Malacca Tours is a brand of Exotic Asia Holidays Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd (company registration 898289M), referred to below as "we", "us" or "our". This policy explains what we collect when you use malaccatour.com or book one of our tours, and what we do with it.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, which includes:

  • Your name, email address and phone or WhatsApp number
  • Tour enquiry details: preferred date, group size, pickup area, dietary requirements
  • Correspondence with us by email, WhatsApp, phone or our enquiry form
  • Booking and payment information, which is processed by our booking provider rather than stored by us

We also collect standard technical information when you visit the site, such as your browser type, device type and the pages you view.

2. How we use your information

  • To answer your enquiry and quote for a tour
  • To operate a tour you have booked, including passing pickup details to your driver-guide
  • To reserve third-party tickets on your behalf, such as river cruise slots
  • To send booking confirmations, vouchers and pre-departure messages
  • To meet our record-keeping obligations as a licensed Malaysian tour operator
  • To improve the website and the tours we offer

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to run your tour:

  • With the driver-guide assigned to your booking
  • With attraction and transport partners where a reservation is made in your name
  • With our booking and payment providers
  • With professional advisers, or with authorities where the law requires it

4. Booking and payment data

Tour bookings are processed through our booking provider's checkout. Card details are handled by that provider and never reach our servers. Enquiries sent through the form on this site are delivered to us by email.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave unexpectedly.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept only as long as they are useful for answering you. Booking records are kept for as long as our tax and licensing obligations in Malaysia require.

7. Your rights

Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything inaccurate
  • Ask us to delete data we no longer need to keep
  • Withdraw consent to marketing messages at any time

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No online transmission is ever completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Third-party sites

This site links to third parties, including our booking provider, the official river cruise ticketing site and our sister site MyTravelLane. Their privacy practices are their own and this policy does not cover them.

We may update this policy. The version published here, with the date at the top, is the current one.
